Michael Hinett

Michael Hinett is a highly experienced social care leader and consultant with over two decades of sector expertise. Since beginning his career in social care in 2003, Michael has built an extensive portfolio of leadership roles across operational delivery, compliance, quality assurance, and strategic development. His hands-on knowledge of the sector spans supported living, residential care, mental health services, and complex needs provision.
As the Managing Director of Qualis Solutions, Michael leads a national consultancy that specialises in:
• CQC and Ofsted registrations
• Quality assurance audits
• Tender and bid writing
• CQC inspection preparation and mock inspections
Under his leadership, Qualis has become a trusted partner to care providers, local authorities, and community interest companies seeking to improve outcomes, grow sustainably, and remain fully compliant with evolving regulatory standards.
Michael has successfully supported numerous organisations through the process of deregistering residential services and transitioning them into supported living, ensuring person-centred care models are maintained while navigating the regulatory and operational complexities involved. His in-depth knowledge of the Health and Social Care Act, Fundamental Standards, and CQC Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOEs) enables him to guide providers through mock inspections, compliance reviews, and quality assurance processes with precision and confidence.
Having held senior roles including Director of Operations & Strategic Development, Group Quality & Compliance Director, Non-Executive Director, and Board Member, Michael brings a balance of strategic foresight and operational know-how. He is recognised for his ability to instil continuous improvement cultures, lead successful service turnarounds, and build systems that withstand external scrutiny while delivering meaningful outcomes for people who draw on care and support.
Michael’s approach is pragmatic, partnership-led, and values-driven. He believes in empowering teams, elevating standards, and ensuring that care delivery is both high-quality and sustainable in the long term.
